Commanders Report

Once again it has been a busy summer in the Northeast Brigade.  From Confederate weddings to Memorial Services for our Veterans, our camps have been setting goals and seeing them come to pass.  A couple of welcomes are late but need to be made.  A big Northeast Brigade welcome to the Catahoula Avengers Camp #1992 in Jena, and the Madison Tipps Camp #2107 in Tallulah.  Now it's time to build your camps, recruit, recruit, recruit!!!!!!

The Northeast Brigade sponsored a living history unit at the Louisiana Purchase celebration at the Lake Claiborne State Park.  The crowd was small, but we were very well received by all.  We are looking forward to participating in another LA Purchase celebration living history unit at the Lake D'arbonne State Park in September.  We also have taken part in the Wreaths of Glory Memorial Ceremonies.  We were in charge of the ceremony for General St. John Richardson Liddell, buried in Jonesville, LA.  Many thanks to the brave men who helped uncover the Generals gravesite (it was under and surrounded by poison oak).  Many of the people of the area did not even know that the General and his family were buried there.  We need to get out and educate the masses.

The parades have also been a great tool to know that the SCV is alive and well in this part of the State.  The Ruston Camp sponsored a unit in the 54th Annual Louisiana Peach Festival in June.  We were very glad to have the Emperor Napoleon join us in the parade.  The theme of the parade was the history of Louisiana.  We had a flag corp. consisting of each flag that once flew over Louisiana (even the French Flag).  Thanks to the folks who came from all over the state to support us.  There were even people from the Arkansas Division who came down to help.

I am very proud of the progress of each and every camp in the Northeast Brigade.  Keep up the good work and lets help build our Louisiana Division into the best division in the Confederacy.

In Service to The Cause, I am
